REFUSE AND RECYCLING SPECIFICATIONSRecycling

Refuse and Recycling is placed at the curb after 6 pm on Sunday night for Monday pickup.

There is a limit of 621 gallon trash containers/bags or 75 lbs. 

   

Recyclable Items - UNLIMITED AMOUNT of recyclables can be placed together in an open container.  No sorting required!

DO NOT PLACE RECYCLABLES IN PLASTIC BAGS.

bullet Aluminum food and beverage containers with food debris removed to include aluminum foil and pie baking tins. Labels do not need to be removed.
bullet Glass food and beverage containers with lids and food debris removed: Clear, Brown Green. Labels do not have to be removed.
bullet Natural and pigmented plastic narrow-neck containers with symbols 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 (milk bottles, water bottles, detergent bottles, shampoo bottles, bleach bottles, etc). Lids and food debris removed. Labels do not have to be removed.
bullet Ferrous (Iron, steel, tin) cans with food debris removed. Labels do not need to be removed.
bullet Newsprint - black and white or pigmented. DO NOT PLACE IN PLASTIC BAGS!
bullet Construction paper, kraft paper & gift wrapping paper (folded).
bullet Fiber-board such as cereal boxes, shoe boxes, or similar.
bullet Printer paper, computer paper, copy paper
bullet Junk Mail, magazines, catalogs and phone books.
bullet Corrugated cardboard broken down.
bullet Empty gable-top milk and juice containers (quick rinse please).

Items not recycled:

Wax coated paper or cardboard, Food debris, PLASTIC BAGS (RECYCLE AT GROCERY STORE), batteries, Styrofoam, Light bulbs, Mirrors, window or auto glass, Porcelain, Ceramics, Glass cookware/bake ware, Microwave oven trays, Drinking glasses, Perfume/cologne bottles, Wood or Yard Waste (TAKE TO EMMAUS YARD WASTE SITE), Unnumbered plastics, Coat hangers, Wire, Appliances, Hazardous or toxic substances, Aerosol cans.

One large item may be placed each week for pickup. A large item is a stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, hot water heater, washer and dryer, microwave or small appliance, furniture, or bicycles. All refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers and air conditioners must have the refrigerant removed and tagged prior to collection.

TIRES, TVs AND COMPUTERS are no longer picked up by the trash hauler
