PROJECT CHILDSAFESM COMES TO
MACUNGIE

FREE
FIREARM SAFETY KITS AVAILABLE
Project
Childsafe is a nationwide program designed to promote safe firearm handling and
proper storage through education. The
program was developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), and is
supported by a U.S. Department of Justice grant.
As
part of this program, Project Childsafe has provided the Macungie Police
Department with free safety kits to distribute. The kit contains literature about gun safety and a cable-style
gun lock. The locks fit on most types
of handguns, rifles and shotguns. The
goal is to prevent a child or any other unauthorized person from accessing a
firearm in your home.
The kits are FREE, and can be picked up at Macungie
Police headquarters in Borough Hall, 21 Locust Street, Macungie. The department's phone number is
610-966-2222.
Check
the Project ChildSafe website at www.projectchildsafe.org for more
information on this program.
