April 2017 Calendar

1ST QUARTER UTILITY BILLS HAVE BEEN MAILED AND ARE DUE MAY 15, 2017.

If you did not receive your bill, you can view it online, click on the View & Pay Utility Bill button to see your account.

QUESTION ABOUT THE SEWER FEES ON YOUR UTILITY BILL?  Borough Council is working to comply with an EPA Administrative Order for rehabilitation of the sewer system.  Borough Council loaned the funds to complete Phase 1 of the Plan.  Your bill has your standard fixed and usage rate which has decreased with the additional cost of $64.50 to fund the capital improvement loan.

ELECTRONICS RECYCLING AND DOCUMENT SHREDDING - April 29 - Macungie and Alburtis Residents and Businesses can bring their items to Macungie Memorial Park from 9 am to noon.

GREAT MACUNGIE CLEANUP - APRIL 22.  You can help clean up the Borough.  Groups are meeting at 9:00 am at the Macungie Fire Department parking lot and 9:30 am at the Train Station in the Flower Park.  You will be directed to locations to clean up and provided with gloves and bags.  It is a good time and you get to meet other residents like you that want to keep the Borough clean.

Spotted LanterflyWHY SHOULD WE BE CONCERNED ABOUT THIS INVASIVE INSECT? Do you have other questions?  Penn State Extension is holding public meetings to inform the public about the spotted lantern fly that is affecting agricultural commodities in Pennsylvania.  There will be a meeting on April 22 at the Lehigh County Ag.  View the information for address and time and other locations of public meetings.

35 gal recycling toterThe Borough is delivering the 35-gallon recycling toters to the residents that have called to reserve a toter.  The toters will be placed at the curb in front of the homes that have signed up.

 THERE ARE MORE TOTERS AVAILABLE.  If you would like a toter, please call the Borough Office at 610-966-2503. The toters will be distributed to single family homes within the Borough on a voluntary basis at no cost to the homeowner. The toters are on a first come first serve basis until they are gone.   

LATEX PAINT RECYCLING EVENT, MAY 13 - 9 AM TO NOON at Lower Macungie Township Municipal Bldg- DO YOU HAVE ANY LEFTOVER PAINT AT HOME YOU WANT TO GET RID OF? recolor paint Macungie Borough, Alburtis Borough and Lower Macungie Township are holding a paint recycling event.  Habitat Lehigh Valley recycles the paint into a product called "recolor" HabitatLV "recolor" Program

Macungie Borough is partnering with the Boroughs of Alburtis and Emmaus and the Townships of Lower Macungie, Upper Milford and Lower Milford to update the Southwestern Lehigh Comprehensive Plan.
