Trash and Recycling Collection
The Borough provides curbside trash and recycling collection once per week for all residents and commercial establishments meeting the six (6) bags of trash per pickup limit.
Recycling amount is unlimited and must be in marked open containers. DO NOT put recycling in plastic bags. The more recycling placed for pickup the less trash you will have. Place the trash and recycling containers out after 6 pm on Sunday evening for Monday AM pick up (No earlier than 6 pm)
EFFECTIVE NOV 1, 2017, QUARTERLY REFUSE/RECYCLING RATE IS $46.08.
Recycling is single stream collection. Commingled items and paper items may be placed in the same recycling container.

One large item may be placed each week for trash pickup. That item can be one white good or bulk item as noted below:
Stoves, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, hot water heaters, washers and dryers, microwaves and similar appliances can be placed out for the weekly collection. All refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers and air conditioners must have the refrigerant removed and tagged prior to collection.
Furniture, bicycles and large waste materials may be placed at the curb for the weekly collection.
Refuse and Recycling Specifications
Refuse and Recycling is placed at the curb after 6 pm on Sunday night for Monday pickup.
There is a limit of 6—21 gallon trash containers/bags or 75 lbs.
UNLIMITED AMOUNT of recyclables can be placed together in an open container. No sorting required!
Items not Recycled
Wax coated paper or cardboard, Food debris, PLASTIC BAGS (RECYCLE AT GROCERY STORE), batteries, Styrofoam, Light bulbs, Mirrors, window or auto glass, Porcelain, Ceramics, Glass cookware/bake ware, Microwave oven trays, Drinking glasses, Perfume/cologne bottles, Wood or Yard Waste (TAKE TO EMMAUS YARD WASTE SITE), Unnumbered plastics, Coat hangers, Wire, Appliances, Hazardous or toxic substances, Aerosol cans.

TIRES, TVs, COMPUTERS (and accessories) and APPLIANCES with freon CAN'T BE PLACED OUT FOR TRASH!
If your trash and/or recycling is not picked up by noon on Monday, please call the Borough office at 610-966-2503 to let us know. We will notify the hauler and they should be back that day or by noon the next day to pick up the missed trash or recycling.

2018 Trash Pickup - One Day Delay Pickup
Pickup on May 28 (Memorial Day) - pickup will be Tuesday, May 29
Pickup on September 3 (Labor Day) - pickup will be Tuesday, September 4
